Bergeggi Ring - Monte Mao - Sughereta Natte
It is a 10 km long route where you can see the beautiful coast of Savona and also the most extensive cork oak forest of central western Liguria, called "Sughereta Natte", always having in the background the beautiful island of Bergeggi. The start of the route is located in Torre del Mare in Bergeggi. We start by taking the path for the botanical path and we proceed on the southern slope of Mount S.Elena. At a certain point, a dirt road begins that will lead to Mount Mao. Continue to climb up to the top of Mount Mao. Here you can enjoy breathtaking and unique views of the Savona coastline.
In the descent of Mount Mao, go back to the gorge of S. Elena and proceed in a slope that leads to another dirt road that will make you reach the Sughereta Natte; which has very large trees that reach even 10 m in height and over 120m in circumference. After crossing this cork road, continue to follow the road that will lead to the end of the route.
